Retire in Paradise!

Retiring In Panama

North Americans are catching on! Panama is an ideal location for a second or a retirement home. Why? Because Panama is a stable, democratic, and beautiful country, in close proximity to the United States. It’s also safe and the U.S. influence is still apparent due to the fact that many Americans were involved in building and operating the Panama Canal. Panama encourages retirees by offering significant incentives. The cost of living is much lower than in the U.S. and medical care rivals that found in U.S. medical centers in terms of quality but for half the price!

Panama offers a wide choice of lifestyles for Retirees. For those who like the fast pace of a city, Panama City offers elegant neighborhoods, stunning sea-view apartments and charming suburban areas.

For those looking for a more tranquil existence, head for the highlands of Panama! You can live in planned communities offering a wide variety of residential styles including houses, villas, town homes and condos. Or choose a home in one of the many picturesque and friendly towns. You will be surrounded by snow-capped peaks, hidden valleys, lush green hills, flowing rivers, and spectacular waterfalls. The perfect climate will allow you to enjoy outdoor activities year round.

Panama is blessed with spectacular beaches on both the Caribbean and Pacific coasts. The mainland and islands located just offshore offer crystal clear waters, coral reefs and white sand dotted with coconut palms. World class residential resorts dot the beaches offering exclusive homes, villas, condos and lofts built to suit every taste. With the ocean, sports facilities and restaurants just steps away, your days can be as busy or leisurely as you choose.

Cost of Living in Panama

Living Well In Panama within a Budget

Panama is fast becoming one of the world’s top retirement destinations – and Americans are catching on! Its US style infrastructure and proximity to the US are particularly appealing to the Baby Boomer generation, as the leading edge heads into retirement. US Government statistics show that most of them will not be able to sustain their current standard of living by relying on their savings, assets or pensions. This active and adventurous generation has traveled more extensively and therefore finds retirement in a foreign country appealing.

Today in Panama, property can be purchased at very reasonable prices, health care is affordable and good, and the incredible pensionado (retiree) program provides those who retire in Panama with the most appealing program of special benefits. To be eligible, the only requirements are that you are at least 18 years of age and receive a government or documented pension income from an international corporation of $500 (and an additional $100 for each dependent) each month!

Where else could you survive on $800-1000 a month (if you own your own home) and still maintain a quality lifestyle? Living on a Social Security check you’d still have money left over for travel, projects and entertainment. There’s lots to do in Panama so boredom is never a concern!
